Infosys seeks business graduates as sales conversation changes

Infosys is seeking 200 MBA graduates internationally to assist its global sales operation evolve right into a solver of purchaser business challenges through IT in place of a fixer of IT problems.

The Indian IT services giant desires to employ graduates of leading business universities, including Imperial College Business School, Harvard and Mannheim.

The recruitment of commercial graduates from high-profile business schools reflects Infosys’s global status and changing customer demand, in response to Srikanth Iyengar, global head of economic development at Infosys.

“Ten to twelve years ago our sales teams were in conversations with customers about fixing IT problems, but now it’s about addressing business challenges,” he said. “We need individuals with a combination of skills to raised engage clients.”

The recruits can be client sales focused, as much as 10% of which may be within the UK.

Infosys pays competitive salaries because it can be competing with large companies which are used to bagging MBA graduates from top universities.

“These people have choices and may be drawn to more established global brands,” said Iyengar.

He noted, however, that the clients would possibly not get a similar client-focused opportunity with established brands and Infosys will give more opportunities to work in several global locations.
