Being Self-Employed and Learning Essential IT Skills

Having basic IT skills can have a positive effect on your confidence, your ability and your business processes, yet the term basic can be applied to a wide range of IT courses, so it’s important to make sure your choosing the right one.

You may feel you have a very basic understanding on computers already, so it’s important to find a course which can help you go to the next level, rather than teaching you aspects that you already know or have an understanding on.

Think about what you can benefit from in your business. For example, do you need to use the internet more, send and receive emails, create presentations or create places to store product information, such as on databases?

Whatever you’re requirement you can be sure that there is the right course out there to be found, and ideally it should be a course which has a team or an individual that you’re able to contact, rather than learning merely through booklets and documents of information.

We’d recommend a course related to the core Office programmes if you’re a beginner, because it can show you how to produce text documents, presentations, spreadsheets, emails and create basic websites. Remember to think hard about your needs before you chose a beginner IT course.
